In order to secure and expand this core business, our client has invested into an own logistics and supply chain structure which is steadily being expanded. In this context our customer is establishing the role Supply Chain Strategy Director (f/m/d) in Berlin and has mandated us exclusively with the search for seasoned supply chain professionals. Targets and Responsibilities: Development, design and implementation of a long-term strategic vision of a global supply chain infrastructure that supports the growth of our client Management and implementation of multiple projects to support the underlying supply chain strategy across all relevant functional interfaces (e.g. network planning, warehousing, outsourcing, automation, transport management) Optimization of customer centricity and service, as well as forecasting and allocation of resources to support our customer's ambitious growth targets Business partnering as well as being a sparring partner to the key stakeholders and technical experts, internally and externally Drive strategic planning and execution to reduce costs, improve productivity and enhance profitability for the distribution and logistics functions Analysis and implementation of process improvement potential along the entire supply chain at all locations Ensure company-wide use of best practices through the integration of technology and information systems affecting value, reliability, quality and cost Support a culture and environment of continuous improvement which focuses on finding ways to improve the efficiency of existing operations through new technologies and processes Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, maintaining high ethical standards to protect the company's reputation within the market Requirements: Functional: University degree in business administration (or related), ideally with a focus on supply chain or logistics A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in e-commerce Well versed with multi-channel and digital supply chain structures with exposure to SC models, digital supply chain, AI and automation Track record in leading challenging supply chain projects, including developing and executing a strategy A combination of strategy consultancy and e-commerce industry background is a plus Business fluent in German and English (written and spoken), additional languages are considered as a plus Personal: High level of initiative, solution and process orientation as well as analytical skills; strategic and holistic way of thinking Interested in people, customers and consumers with a high degree of customer orientation Gravitas and an excellent reputation for winning the respect of the Board of Directors, management team and colleagues Sets clear goals, works hard, hands-on and ambitious, delivers results, always looking for ways to improve in all areas, shows ownership, holds responsibility and accountability Works well with others - as leader and part of the team; drives change with a certain humbleness and respect for others by anticipating the impact of words and actions Communicates direct and open with others to secure their buy-in and win them over to an idea Ability to make difficult decisions based on reason and emotional intelligence Potential for development into bigger roles in the future Travel willingness (around 30% of the time, both nationally and internationally) This challenging and exciting task offers the opportunity to develop further in the ongoing growth of the company and thus provide an interesting long-term perspective.
